Okay place to live....

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2007
I am a current resident who is moving October 1st after renting at South Pointe for many years. Mangement has done a beautiful job of fixing up the courtyard area (brand new pool, new stainless steel bar-b-que grills, rock fountain), however, my rent was raised again and the 740.00 they are asking for per month is not worth it. Last month they were still renting 1 bedroom apartments for new residents at 675.00. As of August 1st, the rent has jumped up to 765.00(probably to pay for the new pool). I have a six month lease and in the last year they have raised my rent by 30.00. I have never once felt unsafe here and am kind of sad to leave. Management is pretty good.... Debbie the property manager is very professional. However, there are a couple of things that should be addressed..... Joyce the asst manager is an absolute two faced b---h. Very unprofessional and rude. She "pretends" to like you..... I saw right through it as did others that live here. Dave, the maintenence guy blames the resident for anything that breaks or "malfunctions".... my refrigerator was leaking and he claimed it was because I "spilled water out of the ice cube tray...." What'''' Very frusterating to deal with. The apartments are not insulated well so be prepared to turn into to an "ice-cube" your self in the winter.... The patio doors allow cold air to come through. The pipes in my building have frozen almost every year I've been here. The air conditioner is a wall unit and cools off the front of the apartment but not the back (bedroom, hallway, etc.....)My advice.... spend lots of time in that new pool. The only problem I've had with other residents is the creepy man that lives below me who always seems to "know" when I am sitting on my balcony.... I was wearing a sun dress one day and my boyfriend noticed him looking out his side window trying to take a "peek". He is also constantly slamming doors so hard that it makes my apartment shake. The complex is very safe because the Bloomington police are a constant presence (they patrol nightly by managements request due to problems that have occurred here in the past with residents selling/distributing illegal substances). Well lit with close parking spaces and a secured building (each resident enters by using a key fob). If your looking for a safe and quit community, I would definetly recommend coming and taking a look. For the most part, management is professional(except for the one bad apple that spolied the bunch.....) and the area is great (close to 494, 35W, the airpport and Wal-Mart is directly across the street).
