Not a good place, you can do better.

I have lived at Tarnhill for 3 years, and am very happy to be leaving. I could write a laundry list of complaints about this place. The number one problem is the lack of professionalism and overall poor attitude of the staff. You will receive numerous requests during the year for them to come into your apartment for (an annual inspection). Funny that the annual inspection comes at least twice a year. You will see that Tarnhill must not be connected very well to the City's water main, because I counted 15 times last year that the water had to be turned off. Plus the water pressure was horrible. Not too bad if a trickle of water is enough for you to get clean. The laundry system is a joke. The community machines (6 pairs serving 300 units) is hardly ever available, and they do not take change. Instead you have to buy a prepaid card. This card is not available in your apartment, however. You have to go to the main building to buy the card and to reload money on it. They always cut corners to replace things around the grounds. This year they finally replaced the parking lot, however they did not do it the correct way. They should have removed the pavement completely and repaved it. Instead, they milled down the bad spots and then repaved the entire lot. This is fine, except the once existant top of curb is now flush with the top of pavement. This has created puddling in the middle of the lot. The garage is a nightmare. Often there is a leak coming from any one of the pipes located on the ceiling of the underground garage....yes, I believe even the sewer pipe. They gave me the unit above the parking garage. Imagine trying to sleep with the garage opening 40 times a night. Look to see if that is the one they are pawning on you.
Overall this is not a good place to live. It is obnoxiously loud and the office managers are not easy to work with, even though they might seem that way when you meet them. They treat you like you are living in the ghetto and you are the lowest part of society. I make 80k a year, and they always treated me like scum. I guess they feel anybody living in an apartment is poor.
Stay away from this place, it will be nothing but hell for you.

I couldn't agree with you more. My unit was also above the garage and in the mornings, evenings, and weekends, it was opening and closing nonstop right underneath my bed. The caretakers are a joke, and management worse. Glad you got out too!

I didn't live in the appartment directly above the garage door, but 1 story above that. I could only imagine the noise! expecially when the garbage truck comes along.
