I lived at Village Park from Dec 12th 2005- May 31st 2006. I had a 12 month lease but had to terminate early due to so many things that werent being done.
Since about Christmas my Apartment(on the 3rd floor) has been leaking from snow melting and rain. I complained to management all the time! They never came up to look at it. All they would say was they would call someone to have it looked at. Never happened. When the spring rains came along, it got worse. I have 2 huge holes in my livng room ceiling! Water got into the carpets(which could have mold now), and not to mention...they told me when I moved in that there is Abstestos in the ceilings(do not drill holes)...Now I feared for our health! So I went to management, told them what was going on(again x4)...and that I wanted to terminate my lease because of this BS. She then proceeded to tell me I owe them $1900 for terminated my lease early! (WTF!) Even after paying them a HUGE deposit to get in. ($1384) I told her that isnt fair, I was promised a nice apartment for me and my daughter to live in, and that promise was broken.(ie: lease broken by them not me) All she said to me was..."Im sorry you feel this way". I called the city health dept. they came out, was very disgusted by the condition of my apt. gave management a deadline to fix it...they did not even attempt to....so they screwed themselves over big time. I will be taking them to Small claims court, sueing for all my rent in return...and pain & suffering.
Village Park is a dump.
Just as the previous person posted....she is so right...about EVERYTHING.
Do not move here. You will be wasting your time and hard earned money if you do.
