Been living here 9 months. It's not the worst place to live, but not the best either. Definitely over priced, even though we got a discount.
-If you want a garage be sure to ask 6 months in advance. I went down their at the end of Oct. to get a garage for Dec-March and I thought that was plenty of time. Well they told me they needed to audit the garages because the people that owned the apartments before gave garages to people that didn't even live here for storage. She told me they would call me when the audit was done. No call. went down their two more times in a months period, each time they said this "audit" was happening tonight and they would call me. No call. I'm sure there's hundreds of garages here, and I know for damn sure they aren't all being used. Thankfully it was a mild winter.
-Maintence is so-so. They are quick to respond to problems, but they replace broken appliances with other broken appliances. Our oven was broken and he replaced it with another over/stove in which one of the burners doesn't work.
-MICE! We're on second floor and one pranced across my foot this winter. Nearly pooed myself. My roommate went down the complain and the maintence guy gave her some lame excuse that when it's cold they mice come up through the heating ducts because it's nice and warm there....that's NO excuse to have mice in my apartment. Weeks later a guy came up and put some powder crap around our heating that was supposed to kill the mice. Haven't seen any since but last night my cat was staring at the heating duct so i'm sure there's some creature stirring up trouble in there again.
-this place is really diverse. many different nationalities here, which isn't a huge surprise for an apartment. there's elderly people, young college students, the hoodlums, nice normal looking couples, etc etc.
-fire alarms have become a weekly routine. and the response time of the bloomington fire department is just magnificant. despite living next door to the ambulance/fire truck garage it still takes 'em 10 minutes to get here and turn the damn things off.
-as far as the fear of walking around at night, i can see how the previous authors feel that way. luckily my apartment faces the semi-busy 86th street, so i think all the drug dealers do their business at the back of the building where there's no traffic. but i have been nervous walking in late at night a few times.
-parking sucks if you come home after 8pm. be ready to drive around for 5 minutes and then end up parking a mile away from your apartment. they really should just plow down some of the flippin garages that they are less than willing to rent out and make more parking.
-the club house is nice which isn't a surprise that they keep that up because that's the first thing new renters see as they go into the office. they just redecorated the entry again, which is find pointless because it was absolutely fine the way it was before. they should invest that money in our apartments. they also just repainted the hallways and recarpeted entry ways. i don't know if the painters were stoned or stupid, but it could look better.

like i originally said, this isn't the worst place the live, but i'd like to get out of here ASAP. it's easier to see the things wrong with this place, than the things that are right with this place
