I moved in to Melrose Gates a few years ago and, obviously, I liked it well enough to stay this long. For the price, you really do get quite a bit - central air, dishwasher, deck/porch, and, in my opinion, a very spacious apartment.

HOWEVER, year by year, things seem to be going downhill. The management has been replaced three times now and seems to be getting worse with each replacement, as well as a replacement maintenance person, who doesn't seem to do a whole lot, unlike the previous person.

My biggest complaint is the management staff. They are very nonchalant about repairs and do not listen. Repairs have been minimal, but lately, it seems like more of a chore to report a repair than to just live with it. The staff used to greet people when they walked into the office... now they ignore people and seem like they're too busy to say a simple "hello". The owner is extremely friendly and helpful, but his staff is not. But, for the money, it is a nice place to live (just stay out of the office!).

This is true, the office staff ignore you until you are standing over the desk. (They don't bother turning off their game of minesweeper) The office staff went over the last nine months from a sweet, caring lady, to a complete airhead 18-year-old who never said 'hello', to a crabby lady who never returned phone calls or once introduced herself, to a woman who also never returns calls and you have to repeat your concern to her five times before she gets it right. When will the problems end?
