Not the greatest place

I lived here for six years, and I watched go from a good place to live to a sub-standard living space.

In the beginning, I was shown a 3rd floor apartment (top floor), and was told that my apartment was currently under renovation but would be just like it. Little did I know that they put me in a second floor apartment right next to the stairwell. The noise was difficult at first, but when new tenants moved in upstairs, they were so loud I had to complain. Management did nothing about it, and actually told me to pound on the ceiling when it was too loud. Kids often ran up and down the hallways screaming.

Safety was terrible. In the beginning, they had a hired security guard that patrolled the building. But within a year, they fired him, and safety went downhill from there. My car was broken into twice in their underground parking garage, and management could have cared less. They kept promising security cameras which never came. Once, in the middle of the night, two people were having sex out in the hallway next to our door. I often saw people getting access to the building who had no business being there, but management again did nothing to upgrade the security. I did not feel safe at this apartment complex.

Maintenance was not all that great either. We had a leak in our ceiling that was only fixed by a simple re-plastering job. They never actually fixed where the leak was coming from, and the ceiling just fell down again into my bedroom. Their porches weren't very safe, and the hallway carpets were disgustingly dirty all the time. There was once a Pharoh Ant infestation throughout the whole complex, and they hired a company to exterminate them that did a terrible job. It took over a year before they actually found a competent company to deal with the problem, all the while ants getting into our food, our bathrooms, and even our beds. A few months before I left, I noticed a few roaches in the hallway -- those small German ones that are a sign of a big infestation, and when I moved stuff our of our storage space, I found that several mice took up residence in there.

As a former resident, I have to say, I was never really impressed with them. They treated me like dirt, and despite the rent going up every lease period, the services got worse and worse. I'm surprised they're still in business.
