If anyone has anything nice to say about this place, I think it will be the staff. I have lived here for almost a year and I am yet to meet the manager. Her name is on everything, but her body is never in the office. The staff turnover is horrible and there seems to be a new face every time I pass the office. They are always out on smoke breaks, so disregard their office hours. You can just find them either in the garage in the winter (or when it rains) or just outside the front doors going from one cigarette to ligthting the next.

I have allergies to cigarette smoke and didn't notice it when I first looked at the property. Soon I found that quite a few tenants and most of the staff light up constantly. There are signs everywhere saying "no smoking" but they place large cigarette containers in front of those signs. My car is 2 spots away from one of the stairwells and that seems to be a popular place for people to smoke indoors since that's where the container is. The value of my car has to have gone way down because now the insides of my car smells like I've smoked in it for years.

The hallways smell like garbabe on hot days and the children are unsupervised in the hallways. They've given us numerous notices on watching your children when they are walking the corridors. I am yet to see the enforcement.

The appliances are cheap, the parking is alright if you arrive early enough in the day to get a decent spot. Other than that, you will have to park farther out into the lot. The front door is automatic and it is almost always turned off so just about anyone can get in the front doors with no problem at all because it props itself open when the power is off. My neighbors have a child that is always crying and I can hear every word that her and her parents are saying anytime during the day and especially the night. When someone is out on their balcony and smoking, the vents pick up the noise and the smokey air from outside gets ventilated into my apartment and smells like smoke when the air conditioning is going. My car has been backed into twice and my doors rammed quite a few times. I have hundreds of dollars of damage to the outer body and the staff is absolutely no help on the issue (when they're in the office, that is._

Lastly, the maintenance people here are worthless. By law, the apartment has to give at least 24 to 48 hour notice before allowed into the apartment. I used to work the third shift and quite a few times I got one knock on the door and they opened the door before I even got a chance to get out of bed or get changed. Then they totally acted as if it was an inconvenience for them for me to be around and didn't tell me the reason why they had entered my apartment in the first place. 3 times they have even knocked on the door, opened it immediately and upon seeing me told me that they had accidentally entered the wrong apartment. I heard once from another tenant that he found 2 of the staff standing outside of his apartment listening through his front door quite a few times. He was actually weirded out by it and tried to speak to them about it. They, of course, denied it.

I'm moving out in a couple of months and can't wait to move out. Don't waste your hard-earned cash on this place. Go elsewhere before you even consider renting from North Meadows.
