I have lived at Village Place Apartments for two years now. While I have lived here I have had numerous problems with the staff and management of this building. The maintenance staff has been seen yelling and threatening residents from not only me but other residents report this, ignoring maintenance request. My 2 apartment which I moved to in the building was not even cleaned, painted, or the carpet cleaned before I moved in and it sat vacant for several months. You could see dirty hand prints on the walls from a toddler, holes from pictures still not filled. When we report issues of drug use or selling of illegal substances safety violations and violence in the building to the onsite management or the management downtown these concerns are ignored. Although it is in the east hillside and the secured entry is heavily emphasized when you go to view the apartments, enforcing that these doors are not propped open. I do not even feel safe letting my child play outside under parental supervision. Numerous cars have been broken into and vandalized.
The management does not put salt down at the only entrance that the residents can come in and out of. This makes it really hard to get out of the building, and even harder to get out of the parking lot, which is built on a slope, and the management answer to the over load of Minnesota snow is to make very large piles in the parking lot taking away parking spots for our already crowed parking lot. I am so glad I am moving out of this apartment complex.
