I've actually seen an improvement since REEFF bought the property. I've lived here for a number of years and in the past, the maintenance staff was inadequate and had poor workmanship, but they have all been replaced by maintenance staff that seems to care and responds quickly to emergency needs.
I've found that when putting in a request for maintenance work, it helps to speak directly, face-to-face, with any of the staff in the office. They also respond better to a good attitude (like most people would)rather than going in to the office with a bad attitude and sarcasm. Remember the golden rule when dealing with customer service!
My AC didn't work very well and I called and asked for maintenace. I said it wasn't an emergency because I was cool enough, it just was making weird noises when it shut off and turned on. I told them to prioritize emergencies before me and I came home a week later to find they'd fixed it.
The elevators are ancient and slow, but they haven't broken down in quite a long time, so I'm happy with that. With the old maintenace crew/management, it was broken every week. Not anymore.
I live in one of the cat buildings, so no dogs in my building. I can hear my upstairs neighbors walking and the one time they were playing the stereo too loudly, I called the office and they resolved the issue within a few hours. I had to call back once and tell them they probably didn't hear the first phone call because their music is too loud and didn't hear the phone ring. I haven't had a problem since then.
The lights in the parking garages are all being replaced with white light flourescents and the hoses for rinsing/washing your car are replaced with new ones that are installed on a winch so there's no messy hose all over the floor. As for safety in the garages/lots for your car, don't leave things out in the open that entice criminals and always lock your doors. Safety is a two way street between the management company and your own actions.
A club house is going up between buildings 2 and 3 and that will be a major selling point, with new exercise facilities, etc. The party room price has dropped from an astronomical $75/use to $40/use.
