I lived in Eden Place for a year (May 07-May08) and really enjoyed my time there. The apartments have great square footage and THE BEST closets and storage. Having the laundry ROOM (not just W & D shoved in a closet) was one of my favorites. It provided a place to store things like the Vacuum, luggage etc.
I will admit that there were some things that could definitely use improvement -- the appliances were a bit dated (we had a new fridge at least) but that is to be expected. Apartments can't afford to updated appliances every 5 years! Although, I am moving BACK to Eden Place in April and they are replacing all the appliances (Fridge, stove, washer/dryer, dish washer) so that addresses that problem. One note: the apartments DO NOT come with microwaves so you'll have to bring your own -- not a big deal, 50 bucks at target.
Parking was rarely, if ever a problem. My roommates and I did try to purchase an extra garage stall and we could not -- there were none available, which i've heard is common there.
Another favorite of mine was the pool areas. My roommates and I laid out many times during the summer. there was always plenty of lounge chairs. Did a renter appreciation pool party in July -- SO MUCH FUN! Tons of prizes and good food...it was nice of them to do put that on.
I keep reading from people who say the office management is rude and what not. I couldn't disagree more. They have all been great to work with both times around for me. I am always greeted with a friendly smile and hello.
The complex is located right along a FABULOUS trail that goes around a lake here in Eden Prairie -- gorgeous 3 mile walk/run route for those who like to get outside. I took advantage of this a lot when I lived there and am excited to be near it again.
Maintenance was always very quick in response time -- never had any issues with toilets overflowing (THANK GOD).
I also read some people's reviews that said the walls are paper thin. WRONG. We rarely heard our neighbors! Those whiny people must have had unusually loud people by them or something.
Couple small complaints:
1) Depending on where you're placed, our master bedroom was FREEEEEEZING in the winter time. We had a corner unit on the top floor, which I'm sure is the reason why, but it was pretty brutal to get out of bed in the morning.
2) Smell in the halls. This can be hit or miss -- depending on who you're neighbors are, but at times the curry was pretty strong. But having lived in other Eden Prairie apartments, you're going to get that pretty much everywhere around here (unless you pay $500 more to live someplace luxory like Watertower or the Bluffs).
3) No overhead lights in the living and bedrooms. Not a big deal...just when moving, make sure a tall lamp is one of the first things you move in so you can have light!

All in all - Eden Place is great! I searched everywhere, visited every apt complex in EP, and this is the best bang for your buck.

wonder if a real renter wrote this review...too many details about new appliances and stuff...looks like the management is adding reviews here...funny...they should put time to make things better than write fake reviews

Why would I say negatives if I were management? I guarantee I'm a real renter. I know about the new appliances (b/c if you could read) i am moving BACK to Eden Place March 27th.
