Worst choice of my life.

I lived at the Edenvale apartments Aug 2006-Sept 2007, and it was most definitely the worst place I have ever lived at. We made a huge mistake signing the lease on the first visit to the Edenvale apts. The people who showed us around, and got our paperwork together didn't even work there 3 weeks later when we moved in, which is too bad because they were actually nice and professional. When we went to pick up our keys the day before moving in, the guy working at the desk was very rude, and we ran into problems with him that day, (which should have been a warning sign, considering we hadn't even lived there yet..) but finally got the key to our place and were able to see it. We were promised a certain unit, but got a different one (wanted one facing the pool.. got one facing the parking lot) which was a bummer but after living there and seeing who else lived there and how obnoxious it would have been facing the pool, I'm glad we got what we did. Before moving there, we obviously did not know what kind of other people lived there -- but let me tell you, knowing what I know now, I would not have moved there. English speaking people are definitely the minority at The Edenvale, and normally it wouldn't be a problem, except the people that live there are VERY loud and VERY rude! Very obnoxious! Kids running up and down the hallways screaming 24 hours a day! You think these people would have a handle on their kids - nope! Taxi vans parked in front of the entrance ALWAYS! People going through your trash instantly after you throw it out - disgusting! This place was like living in another country -- or even another world! That was my biggest complaint.. the kind of people that occupied that place. My friends and I were verbally/sexually harassed many times at the pool by non-American teenagers who smoked pot and went swimming in their dirty underwear. It was horrible. We complained to the management team, but never heard anything from them. Women could be getting raped while trying to enjoy the pool and nobody would stop it - that's how bad it was. Moving on though.. the staff is horrible. Especially the manager! (I've heard that SHE is gone now) She was an ice-cold b****! for lack of better terms! She was the rudest, hard-headed most stuck up woman I have ever met in my entire life. Her followers (lower management/office staff) were just as bad. They would shut the curtains and lock the office door during the day when they were suppose to be open.. they never answered the phones. We had our apartment entered without us knowing many times.. the manager even knocked on our door during dinner hours to ask us if a stray cart in the hallway was ours/if we left it in the hallway/and made damn sure we knew the rules & cart policy. The elevator never worked, which made life a lot harder when bringing home groceries. Our apartment was large and after living at other (more expensive) apartments, worth what we paid for it ---- VERY plain and ugly! The bathroom ceiling fell down on my girlfriend while she was showering, the garbage disposal would flood up our downstairs neighbors sink water/waste. The walls were very thin and so we heard everything/our neighbors got angry every time we watched a movie/listened to music. We had the cops called on us a couple of times while hanging out with friends. We lived on the 3rd floor, but still noise was constantly a problem. There was ALWAYS goose crap/rotten apples (from the apple tree.. non-edible apples)/cigg butts/trash all over the walkways. The building always smelled disgusting.. a mix between ethnic cooking and sewage. The washer/dryers always ate our money and never cleaned our clothes.. when we could get to them. I never wanted to come home to the place I had to call home.. every pleasant memory we have of that place is replaced by some other horrid memory. I wish I had never lived there at all.. huge mistake! Please take my word.. we were young (under 21) and dumb! This place is the slums compared to where I live now, and I would never recommend it to anyone! Not even my worst enemy! Worst year of my life!
