This place is really going through so many changes that it is questionable.
They have gone through so many rental agents and maintenance supervisors that we can't even keep the names straight anymore. The property manager does a good job of shaking his head, but other than that, doesn't do much. The place has been bought and sold so many times that at one point, the phones were cut off and the gas company was threatening to cut off the gas, which brings up an entire other issue.
If you like paying for everyone else's gas bill, move here. It is "communal" gas. So basically, those people who never get warm enough in the winter can crank it to 100 and you are stuck paying their bill, oh and the gas to heat the pool and hot tub, you are paying for that too in your gas bill, not included in your rent.
For the amenities, the pool is always broken or being repaired and if you want to catch a disease, jump in their "hot" tub and pool is so cold right now that my "boys" are now in my stomach. The hot tub is just warm enough to be a petri dish. The weight room is better than others I've seen, but nothing special and someone beat up their dish receiver so you only have one channel and it sucks. The locker room benches have rusted and only a matter of time before they break off and the showers are another breeding ground for diseases.
Pets, yeah, you can have them but for those of us that are tired of smelling cat piss and stepping on dog crap, this place sucks.
The view is beautiful and they have done a good job on cleaning most of the place up.
The "security" cameras are a facade and don't work worth a crap. If the power goes out, wait a week for the maintenance crew to reset the elevator so you can use that, or to reset the fire alarm. Make sure your flashlight has working batteries because the emergeny lighting last for about a minute and then dies. Pipes in the garage are beginning to leak like an old man's bladder and they are very slow on fixing them.
Juan, the cleaning guy, has been here for years and about the only one that anyone likes.
You can keep your windows open most of the time, but you get that great "fresh" smokey air from all the cigarrette smokers on their decks who don't want to stink up their own place. Watch out for storms if you do keep your windows open, they have no cover to keep the rain out.
The party room is overpriced and has no tv or radio, so pretty boring place. I think the property manager, is trying to open a library there. There are no community parties organized by the property like there used to be.
Oh, the geese. The city did a good job of getting rid of most of them a couple of years ago, but there are still some in the area that honk all night long and crap EVERYWHERE.
Security, another thief has shown up in one building and management didn't tell anyone else in the building about it, trying to hide the crime that does exist here, so if you want to find out about crime, call the Eden Prairie Police department because the complex won't tell you ANYTHING. Since the complex is advertising safe and SECURE buildings, hopefully someone will sue them soon for false advertising.

If you dislike this place so much why have you lived there for 5 years? There must be something keeping you there!

My husband and I were thinking about moving there. I don't think the apartment complex advertises SECURITY. Some of your issues are with Residents, not the community. I would be curious to know what has made you so bitter? And by the way, welcome to multi-family housing! I have seen way WORSE!!!
