Decent place to live

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007
Overall, the building is kept very nice and clean. The hallways are well lit, and nicely decorated. There is a laundry room with 3 washer and dryers on each floor. The laundry area on our floor is generally clean and in good condition. During the day the laundry room is usually empty since most people are at work. (So being a stay at home mom this is when I do most of the laundry). I have noticed the laundry room is empty a lot of times in the evenings and weekends also. But I'm not sure if it like this in all the laundry rooms or just the one on our floor.
It seems like they keep the actual apartments is good condition also. We moved into a newly remodeled unit that had new carpeting, new cabinets, new counter tops, and all new appliances. This made the unit look very up to date.
The outside parking is good, There is no assigned parking but I have never not found a parking spot.
The underground garage parking is nice to have in the winter. However, it is very poorly lit. Also, a lot of people have had there cars broken into and radios stolen in the underground parking. (Including me). I have had neighbors tell me that It has happened to several other residents also. As much as we pay for rent, they really need to install security cameras.
The girls that work in the office have always been exceptionally friendly.
Another bad thing about this complex is that they hand out notices too late. They will say all cars need to be out of the garage by 8 a.m. and I won't have even gotten the notice until 10 a.m. because they don't put it on your door until the evening before they are doing it. (sometimes not until the same day they are doing it). I also am not a fan of the annual apartment inspection they do every summer. I pay a lot of money to live here, and I don't think they should come in just whenever they want. After you give your 2 month notice, they are free to show your apartment whenever they want. And for some reason they hardly give you any notice. I would think that they would give me time to clean up a little since they are trying to sell it. Instead they bring a paper over at 8:30 in the evening and say they are bringing someone in at 9:00 the next morning.'!
As far as the bug problem is concerned: We do have some little spiders in the summer months. Our apartment is facing a wooded area with ponds, so this is probably to be expected. I have had one person on my floor ask me if I had any larger bugs in my unit, and she said she did. The one thing I have is ANTS! I can not get rid of them! They were here all last summer, I thought they would die off in the winter and they never did. They are all over the counters. and in the bathroom. I have had ant poison out forever. They go away for a little bit, and then they come back.
Agreeing with the previous review, I am not sure why the residents are not allowed to bring alcohol and whatnot into the pool area, and yet the staff does it.
THIS IS A DECENT PLACE TO LIVE, BUT YOU CAN FIND SOMETHING BETTER FOR THE SAME PRICE!
