The fire alarms were deliberately turned off in my building because when the water for the laundry room leaked on them, it would make the fire alarms go off. So, when the guy in the apartment down there caught his mattress on fire, the entire building filled up with smoke (bad enough not to be able to breathe) at 5 in the morning - BUT NO FIRE ALARMS WENT OFF! Maintenance requests have taken up to a year to get fixed. And, when I have called the apartment office, the manager NEVER called me back, never, not once! The grounds are always dirty, and the buildings are filthy. The parking ramps and parking lot are dangerously littered, and they don't plow until it's too late during the winter months so the ice is very bad.

There was popcorn spilled in the back hallway to the laundry room for two weeks once, and no one noticed it.

I would STRONGLY encourage anyone considering renting here contact the EP Police Department and Fire Department first. They have records (public records) of all the incidents here. Since I've been here, there have been at least four fires, including one in a dumpster, and even a suspected arson in the office.

And don't try going over to see the manager if it's after 4:00 - she won't be there.

This rating was a long time ago. I believe the ownership has changed hands. Yes there have been fires. The dumpster and the office fire were on the same night and were arson, by the same person. They were arrested that night. That was about 10 years ago. A couple years back there was a fire that did a lot of damage to one of the buildings. It was caused by a resident. Careless smoking I belive. I live there now and have no major complaints. The rent is lower than many places in town. The apartments are bigger, and the maintenance staff is always present, always doing the best they can. Maybe not always perfect, but always trying to improve. The management staff is very responsive, freindly and professional.
