Don't be fooled, this place sucks ass! I have lived here for almost a year and am moving at the end of this month. When I went on a tour of Cedars, I thought it would be the nicest apartment I had ever lived in. It turned out to be the worst. I pay 870 a month for a 1 bedroom. My apartment is spacious which is good. But that is about the only good thing I can think of about it. I was told that a new kitchen floor would be installed b4 I moved in July 2004. My floor was finally installed last November only because I called and called and called and called. You have to bug these people to get something done. The wood in the apartment is rotting. My air conditioner sucks! It seems like something is ALWAYS broken around this place. The elevator in my building has been broken at least 5 times in the last year. There are 3 washers and dryers in each laundry unit and 1 of the washers has been broken since I moved in and a second one won't wash clothes on hot. The dryers never get my clothes dry. The pool opened a few weeks late this year and the hot tub just opened a couple weeks ago. About a month ago I could not get OUT of my building through the main exit because the door would not open. It was somehow jammed. I used a side exit and called the office to let them know since it is a fire hazzard. They agreed and said they would have it fixed right away. That was at 9 am. At noon it still was not fixed so I called again (normally I would not be so annoying but I am sick of stuff not getting done) and again they said they would have it fixed right away. It was not fixed until after 8pm that night. I did not call again because I knew it would do no good. I also had a problem with noise. I may be wrong but I thought that you could make noise up until 10pm. I was at home playing my stereo at 12:30pm on a Tuesday or Wednesday and had a knock on my door from the property manager. She said,"I'm sure you know why I am knocking on your door'" UHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NO I HAVE NO FLIPPING IDEA WHY! WHY' She wanted me to turn down my stereo. She said she just happened to be walking through my floor and heard my music and that if anyone of my neighbors were home right now they might be able to here it. So nobody complained. And I am not a ----- and try to respect others but come on. Lunch time on a week day and I can't play music' Screw that! They recently sent out a monthly flyer and it said you could only make noise between 8am and 6pm. Personally I only would make noise between 10am and 10pm. I don't even get home from work until after 7pm. I can hear everything my neighbors do upstairs....EVERYTHING. So I am sure the people below me know everything about my life to. The smoke detector in my apartment goes off everytime I use my oven. My oven burns food on the outside but stays cold on the inside. The building fire alarm goes off all the time. Just a few weeks ago it went of 6 times in 1 night. I have read all the other reviews and the only thing I can really say has not bothered me is pests. I have never once seen a mouse, a cockroach, or a rat in my apartment. So I must be lucky. I try to look at the brightside of every situation and I found one in this situation. Cedars of Edina is such a horrible place to live that it motivated me to do what I need to be able to buy my first house. I will be leaving this hell hole at the end of the month and starting my life as a home owner.
