Disgusted and Disgusting

The staff and maintenance is where I have the largest issue. The office staff appears caring and helpful but work requests were lost and the bare minimum was done in an untimely and incompetent manner. In the first few minutes of walking into my apartment after moving in something was not quite right. A kitchen drawer was broken, the refrigerator was extremely loud (it was slowly dying and was not within the safety range for food temperature), the disposal did not work at all, and the carpet despite being cleaned still smelled of the past resident. There were also piles of mouse poop in the cabinets and my storage locker still was full with the previous resident??s trash. The water damage in the bathroom was just sprayed over and could be seen again in a few short months (the bathroom was not the only site of water damage, the patio door and kitchen have it too). From there I experienced mice dying in my apartment and scurrying across the floor, food was always keep out of reach, top cabinets. Eventually the holes were plugged up with wire, poison, and foam. But they came back! I would come home to mice screaming in the traps!! I would also wake up in the middle of the night from the noise of mice scratching to get in.

Next came flooding in my apartment. During the first large rain of spring my apartment began to flood under the patio door and extended quite a ways over the length of the rest of the wall. I called to notify the staff that my apartment was flooding and waited and waited ??. By this point, all of my towels had been soaked from trying to sop up the water, 18 in all. They eventually came with a wet vac went over it once and left. Did they come back, despite the continued rain' NO Eventually they came back to ---- the outside but since the guy that cocked had only a general statement from another maint. guy he didn??t really know where exactly the extent and location of the flooding. So next rain storm, floor soaked, again! Not as bad mind you, meaning that it didn??t quite reach to my kitchen, but still used up all of my towels (they were sopping) and hung them up all over the bathroom in attempts to dry because I had no other options once they were gone. I asked someone to come, who ever was on call, and did they come' NO I called and asked for a wet vac the next day, they came with a fan. Eventually the outside was cocked again and haven??t had a problem since.

Then I received a letter stating that my rent was going up $75. Oh, but I should be thankful because they could get a whole $100 more for it on the market.

Hmm??. Mice, water, appliances not working (problems with the toilet and oven for which I have not mentioned, no one came to fix the toilet so my boyfriend had to come and fix it twice), chewed food in the hot tub and trash in the sauna, broken gym equipment (there is hardly any to begin with), and construction in the hallways a majority of the time I was living here.

There are still to this day numerous problems with the apartment but I have a life!! Yes it is gross that there are mice droppings and fur behind my stove but being on these people to fix the utmost important things is incredibly time consuming.

People play basketball in the middle of the night here, although it is not very often, and children treat the complex and the hallways like their personal playground. Lots of crying from children who run this place. Yesterday I tried to enjoy the pool only to be splashed while laying out by children doing cannenbals into the pool. No respect shown, they could give two...well you know. Same with the children who kick their soccer ball into my apartment. Once in awhile I understand that, they are kids, but when it is almost every day it starts to get to you. These children need a playground and a babysitter. If you come for a tour make sure to come after school gets out in the evening and just spend some time in the courtyard to get a feel for the place.

The best yet is in the morning to early afternoon two to three males scream at the top of their lungs (this started in the last two weeks or so). Typically it only last a few seconds, sometimes longer but to be woken up by this or hear this in the middle of the day is disturbing to say the least.

O, almost forgot, inch long bugs climb out of my sink. Mold grows in this apartment at an incredibly fast rate. When the windows are shut, but they never are anymore, even in winter, the smell is terrible in the apartment and I am a clean person!

Small things but that nevertheless effected me?? jets in the outdoor hot tub do not work, pool temps are all over the place, be careful in the indoor pool when the floor gets wet no safety precautions made. The tunnels are closed when it is raining out because they flood. Residents here are not always the best. The tenants above me drop cigarettes on my patio. Last time I went to clean up, I filled a sealable sandwich bag full of their buts.

I had my AC on all day when it was 90 outside only to have it cool my living room (where the AC is) to 84. Someone came and checked but said it met requirements. He did not say anything about the fact that I have a stuffed socks around the unit because it had not been installed properly.

Trash gets plugged and then it sits in the laundry room. And garage parking is near empty but it is an additional 40 to get a spot, O PLEASE, TALK ABOUT SUCKING UP EVERY LAST DOLLAR THEY CAN GET FROM YOU??.

The apartment entrance intercom in complex B did not work for months!!

One funny story, yesterday my friend and I were locked in the pool because they decided not to check to see if anyone was still in there before locking the gate.

I hope this helps. I just wish I would have listened to others about their comments made about the mice. It should have sent some red flags up for me, but live and learn and get out!
