it doesn't take much to see where all the money is being spent here.....advertising and landscaping! this place gives "luxury" a whole new meaning. maybe this list will help others make a better choice on where to live......

landscaping....

well done but is it really necessary' maybe they're trying to prepare people for the eyesore apartments.

pests and critters....

older buildings generally mean lots of bugs and other critters, cedars is no exception. tons of spiders, beetles, and centipedes. sometimes you can even hear mice scurry in the walls! i guess some of the buildings have bed bugs. that's pretty bad news for anyone living in those buildings because if you know anything about bed bugs you know they're incredibly hard to get rid of once they've invaded...this holds true whether cedars does their preventitive treament or not!

maintenance....

unless life threatening or you're just moving in, expect to have your maintenance requests ignored for long periods of time.

structure....

when it starts getting cold be sure to invest in some window insulation kits or some thick sweaters! if it's windy the blinds will actually move because there's so much of a draft coming through. drafts also like to come through the space around the wall unit air conditioner. the building is old so there's bound to be more and more problems each year.

noise....

the walls have really poor soundproofing. prepare to hear everything your neighbor says, does, and listens to.

water....

there seems to be an ongoing issue with the plumbing. be prepared for changing water temperatures during your shower along with low water pressure.

fees....

the money grubbing owners thrive off people who are here temporarily for their jobs, mostly from india. subletting fees and roommate change fees are sky high. prepare for a mile long cleaning list when you move out and know that even when you think you got everything, you probably didn't. if you do get a deposit back, expect it to take forever and not be in full.

policies....

many people have more pets than they're supposed to, particularly dogs. there's a one dog limit yet people have two..three...if cedars can't enforce a rule like this, what else do they let fly' it's clear they favor certain residents.

parking....

lock your doors because people like to steal here. they also like to ding your car's doors and park in sports that aren't actually parking spots.

theft....

check police reports off the city of edina's website and you'll see there's been various theft and burglary reports from the block cedars is on. theft from cars in the parking lots AND garages seems to be the most common. residents stealing from each other comes in at a close second...items in storage lockers and even your own mail [packages] are not safe here!! its pretty sad to see people's notes in the hall pleading their neighbors to give back their stolen items. delivery people never come to your door so they're either left in the lobby for anyone to grab or in the main office.

explore your options!!!!...

Cedars was more than likely the worst place to live no doubt about that. I lived there for over a year, and thought, "Why would I be paying what I am actually paying for something like this?!" Bottom line I wish Cedars percentage would go down to the near 30's... It does not deserve a 48%... I can't say what a bad investment I made by living there for as long as I did... Worst mistake of my life. Please this is a fair warning... If you think about considering Cedars as a place to live, go look out there more!!
