I'm shocked - I love Cedars

I'm a huge lover of internet review type websites and normally before I buy anything I google a place and look for customer reviews because they can be SO helpful. I am so shocked to see people posting the things they have regarding Cedars.
First of all, I don't think they are very constructive reviews. NO APARTMENT is AS BAD as these people are making out Cedars to be and still be in business. Cedars has 600 apartments and there is NO WAY they could stay in business if they were doing things the way people have said.
When I moved in (last year) I worked with the leasing staff for weeks trying to find the perfect apartment. Not only were they extremely pleasant to talk to, they were helpful and conscious of my needs and wants in a home. They treated me like they were welcoming me into a family and not just finding a vanilla box for me to live in.
Over the past year I've had a few maintenance requests for a clogged toilet, my disposal not working and my stove burner not lighting. These are ALL things I've experienced living at other apartments as well. The one thing different about living at Cedars is that they have an onsite Maintenance team who took care of everything I needed with in a day or so and I didn't have to worry about it!
The staff in the Management office are also fantastic! When I need stamps - they have them, when I have a question they have the answer (or know where to find it). They are fantastic and that's all I can say.
What really upsets me about the most recent reviews is the talk about the electricity going out. I don't know if anyone else reading this lives in Edina, but there were 2 or 3 times that the power went out IN THE ENTIRE CITY! We had some of the worst storms this summer and even TARGET lost power for almost the whole day. Don't blame Cedars for Mother Natures problem.
For someone who uses peer reviews in order to make an informed decision, I find it appalling that someone would abuse this system in such a way to basically defame Cedars. I felt like I had to say something because they are getting a really bad wrap on here...if anyone else that lives at Cedars is reading this and agrees with me I would urge you to write about your own experiences (and be honest and not exaggerate).

you know what i find appalling? that the staff would post fake positive reviews like this to try and drive people away from the truth. it seems you have done the math knowing that there's 600 apartments on the lot. not something a run of the mill resident would have known off the top of their head. it's not crazy that there's all these problems and they're still in business. if slum lords can stay in business, so can this place. i'm not comparing the two directly because i will say cedars isn't at that point but it just goes to show how bad things can be and still be operating. it's not an impossible feat.
i still doubt you're an actual resident but for the others reading this, of course management is going to be helpful in finding you an apartment! you're another paycheck! it's the same at any apartment. here's a tip....next time you stop in for stamps ask to see police reports about the theft. if they don't hand it over just check with the local police station. i think that information would help tons of people make an informed decision, especially if they have families.
the electricity is an issue. the storms i understand but i can recall a few times where the power has gone out on a perfectly calm day. i happen to know someone who works at target and the few days they lost power this summer were not any of the days it was lost here. it was due to the road construction on hazelton.
i find it hard to believe someone living here would have no issues and only good things to say. since there's a few different buildings not everyone is going to deal with the same problems but it's really hard to overlook an apartment community that has issues like theft, bed bugs, plumbing, electricity, and noise. it doesn't matter if you deal with it firsthand or not. if it wasn't them, it could have been you.

have you talked to the management about all of your issues? It seems to me you have some pretty strong opinions and I'm just wondering if you ever gave them a chance to fix your problems.

First of all, I'm not an employee and second of all knowing there are 600 apartments is common knowledge. Obviously you knew or you wouldn't know I was right.
Maybe you don't even live there and just run around spouting off bad information. Or maybe you're one of those residents who can't follow the rules and now your just pissed off. Either way, you clearly have WAY too much time on your hands since you've basically written a novel about how much you hate Cedars. Why don't you go buy a house or something and then see how much you complain when there is no maintenance person to fix your appliances or an office to sign for your packages.

actually, i wasn't aware of the number and i don't agree on it being common knowledge. it seems a bit peculiar for a "resident" to just throw a number like that out there. my novel of a response is equal to yours, if not shorter. it appears i'm not the only one with time on my hands! this is just an example of two people having strong and opposite opinions.
