My 31 years at the Cedars

This past May marks my 31st year living at the Cedars. I travel overseas frequently and for long periods of time and have never wanted to purchase a home. I have checked out other rental properties in Edina - especially along York Avenue - and have found none to be as positive or friendly as the Cedars. The buildings and grounds at the Cedars are well maintained and the landscaping that is currently being developed and planted will be an incredibly beautiful and harmonious addition to the complex. This is very important to me and is one of several reasons I have chosen not to live in one of several high rise apartments located in Edina.
In all of my 31 years at the Cedars, I have never had to wait more that 1 day for a response to a service request. I have never had an unsatisfactory response. They update my unit periodically without my asking, and about 10 years ago, at my request, put in a wood floor throughout my apartment at no cost to me.
The environment in which I spend most of my life is very important to me. I like having positive people around. I enjoy natural scenery and gardens. I enjoy spacious grounds which are an escape for me from the crowds and conjestion of the city where I work.
I would very much recommend the Cedars to anyone looking for a home in Edina. Everything I need to live is within easy walking distance - Target, Byerly's, Southdale Library, AAA service station, etc. The staff have always been very helpful to me and very positive. I am very happy living here.

So how much did they give you off your rent to write this? Totally management influenced. If you been living there that long then yeah they're going to treat you better and better each year just to keep you. What about the people that only plan on living there 6 months or a year like the people on work visas or projects. They get treated like ----.

The rate after 31 years must be pretty nice! It's probably closer to what they SHOULD be charging for their current units. You know, it's so funny that all these positive reviews come up after people start voicing their true opinions. Damage control anyone? There's just too many similarities in a majority of these positive reviews...instant 5.0 ratings for one!

Totally agree with responses. At least all the bad reviews are similar and it just erks me that the managers will write reviews.

I know this person and it is definately not a staff person. I have had the same experiance as this person and have had much worse experiances in other places. We have the same 3 or 4 people writing multiple bad reviews and posing BS comments on all of the good reviews. If you don't like it, leave. It would make a lot of us long time residents happy.
