The finger pointing being done here is really lame. I decided to do some research tonight to get some REAL answers. While I can't speak for everything that's being mentioned in these reviews I have found that the people weren't lying about the theft and the crime here!! I was neutral, now I'm not so sure.
2008: 05/24/08 A briefcase, laptop, and other items totaling $3,012 were reported stolen from someone's car. 07/04/08 GPS unit was stolen from someone's car. 07/24/08 an unknown person entered an apartment and stole a purse and it's contents. 08/18/08 an unknown person stole a car from the parking lot. 10/20/08 an unknown person stole a PS3 and a laptop from someone's apartment 10/31/08 A verbal domestic dispute was reported 11/04/08 an unknown person stole a purse that someone accidentally left on top of their car
2007: Lots of reports for 2007 too, the most alarming being this one, 10/12/07 A man awoke to an unknown person standing by his bed. The unknown person fled, stealing a $400 watch.
All this was done with a quick internet search. I don't even want to know what else has been reported! I do not feel safe after reading some of that. For the skeptics, this information was found on the police station's website and in the police blotter on the Star Tribune's website. It's all public information.

| Dear Nemo01, While it is true that Cedars of Edina has had some crime issues, the recent GPS system crimes did not only affect our property but a handful of other properties in the surrounding area. The laptop and PS3 system that were stolen from an apartment were due to a domestic dispute and those residents were asked to leave and no longer live at Cedars. The car that was stolen was returned and many of the other crimes stated were later resolved. Cedars is not exempt from crime and we, as Management, do everything within our power to work diligently with the Edina Police and our resident's to ensure that every resident is safe and secure. We have access control cameras and an electronic entry system for the entire property and we ask all of our resident's to never let an unknown person into the buildings. We would ask that anyone concerned with the crime at Cedars talk to Edina Police and not just take the crimes for face value. We also ask that you come visit our property, talk with our Management staff and let us resolve any hesitation you may have. Finally, we ask any review poster that has an unresolved issue with any of our staff, resident's or community to talk with us so that together we can find a solution. We are committed to having a community full of happy and satisfied resident's and we can only do that when we know the issue and the person. Sincerely, Cedars of Edina Management | |

We've been residents for several months and have found that the Cedars' management very responsive regarding any problem areas. You have to be aware that even though the grounds are very woodsy and well maintained, its still in a metro area subject to the same problems that a homeowner would encounter living down the block. Do your research properly and discover Cedars is part of Edina for better or worse.
