The building and grounds are beautiful and well-kept up. The staff is friendly and the apartments are somewhat maintained. My only issue is the sound-proofing - it's non-existent. Unfortunately, the person above me walks hard and it sounds as though furniture is being moved throughout the day - either that or there is a bowling alley above me.

Haha. You made me laugh with the 'bowling alley' thing. I lived in a nasty place in Burnsville, Colonial Villa (Connelly Estates, now Connelly Villa),where they changed their names 3 times. It sounded like a bowling alley was above us, too. Management, they had no regard for the law. Gloria was the manager's name. She broke into our apartment numerous times. Anyways, the bowling alley thing reminded me of some of my bad experiences!

Glad you found humor in my comments. I lived there a couple more years and it just got worse. Not to mention that the person above me in the bowling alley moved and it became a revolving door of tennants. Each one louder than the last. Building management changed 3 times and not for the good. The storage rooms were broken into and ransacked; the party room was broken into and the TV was stolen; the pool area was trashed among the many problems at that place. So happy to be gone.

Responding to "Anonmous" I have been considering a move to the Vernon Oaks, if I was on the top floor do you think that would be ok? I wonder if the management is better now. Is there anyone out there that has another opinion? I really liked it when I toured it, but I have not lived there. Signed, Worried
