I went on this website to check out another apartment and I came accross Brentwood, so I thought I would share my good/bad story. When I first move in 2002 it was a great place to live. No drugs, no dogs just cats, not many children, quiet, you could get maintence to you house within a couple of hours, was always able to talk to someone in the office, the grounds were well kept. Until about 2004 is when all the crap started. Mold in the kitchen, bathroom, loud musice, and tennets, kids creating problems, drug raids, grounds looking nasty, and could get the office if you paid for it. I think part of the problem is that Brentwood has gone through so many different management its not even funny. In my 6 years of staying I had over 5 different managers, and at least 15 office staff. That says alot about the propery right here. In 2006 my plan was to move until Thacher took over, and he sold me a pretty story that he was going to be there for along time, take care of all the bad and make it a HOME not a HOUSE....well well well you see where Thacher is now right...GONE in 2007!!!! I left in 2007 because all of the promise Thacher promised I didnt get. He never fixed the mold in the bathroom or kitchen so I called the health inspector to come out and site them, they never shoved the back or the front in a timly mannor so I called the health inspector again. I needed a new stove and it too 5 days to get one, so I took money off my rent, my car got broken into twice and a child broke my windsheld. Brentwood had nothing to say about that. 2 boys that live in 134 (may have moved out) told my 7 year old they were going to kill her and shoot her deat...Thacher acted as if it was not a problem and he didnt know what was going on. I have him 3 of my police reports on these boys and still did nothing about it. Then when I left in June 2007 I left a month early and didnt pay the rent. Why should I my daughter is in danger. Then they sent me a bill for over $3000 dollars worth of damage. Are you serious. I was so happy that I took pictures before and after, of the mold, and all the other complains I had. I took Brentwood to court to get my deposit back and not to have to pay that $3000 back, and I wonder who won....ME!!! I had high hopes for Brentwood because it was nice in 2002, but in 2004 something changed about that place. I still have 2 friends that live there now, and they say its hell times 4. If you have a positive post to post about Brentwood, I would say this call Goodmen Group which is the over all head on Brentwood, ask them how many mangers have been there in the last 5 years, call the health inspector and see how many calls they have gotten, and also call the police dept, and ask them. All this information is public, and then maybe you will see why people feel so strongely that Brentwood is not what its cracked up to be.

omg, I lived next to you on the end unit. when you moved out, they moved a family of 10 in around the end of July, any damage in that place was likely due to them. Did you ever notice how, in the bathrooms you could hear the people next door all the time. Yeah, that was because of the window sized hole behind our bathroom vanities. There was NO WALL separating our bathrooms. The only thing separating it was the cardboard back of our vanities. We left in the end of September, broke our lease, they tried billing me for about 13k. I had about 15-20 emails between thatcher and I, he promised 3 times to evict the people who moved into your place, he did not. I posted some of the pics of the wall hole and mold on here, and took hours of video of the noise level inside my unit from the people who moved in after you, who would lock their two year old outside the front door at 11pm as punishment. We finally left because the new neighbors in the next building were yelling threats to shoot my boyfriend watching my 4 year old because he wouldnt panhandle them cigarettes or money. Thatcher promised to evict them too, never did. He left shortly after we did. I got a bill from collections from brentwood, sent in a lengthy dispute and letter to the attorney general with the emails and pictures, never heard from them again. I have considered taking them to court for the deposit,emergency moving expenses, and part of my rent back for 2 months of pure hell, but I just dont have the time or money to devote to it.
