My fiance and I have lived in Lake Cove for almost 3 years now. For a while things were great, but now we are leaving and aren't looking back. We have had both of our toilets overflow and flood. One was in the middle of the night and maintenance did not get ahold of us until 2 DAYS LATER and since the carpet was almost dry told us there was nothing that they could do. They later had to come back and gut our bathroom because the floorboards had rotted and we couldn't use the bathroom.
They say that they do not accept dogs, but our neighbors have 2 dogs that bark at all hours and go to the bathroom on the sidewalk. When I called the office to complain, they told me that our neighbors can't have dogs because dogs are not allowed.
We have 2 different neighbors who are extrememly rude and violate their lease in many ways. The neighbors both have children and the kids have been known to light small fires in the hallways, run up and down the stairs at all hours and get into fist fights with eachother right outside our apartment door. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to call the police. Every time I go to the leasing office to tell them about what is going on, they have me fill out an incident report and tell me that the neighbors will be evicted soon. This has lasted 4 months so far and the neighbors are still here.
When the kids were lighting fires in the hallway, I called the leasing office right after I called the police to tell them what was going on and Tarah in the leasing office told me that she was the only one there and that there was nothing that she could do.
Our neighbors know that it is me and my fiance that have been calling the police and have threatened us on numerous occasions if we ever call the police again. I have told this to both the police and the leasing office and have been told that until they actually do anything, there is nothing that they can do. A week ago my gas was siphoned out of my car's gas tank. I have no way to prove that the neighbors did it, but have had to get a garage.
This property is not worth your time. They brag that their property is "lakeside living" but we can't even see the lake from our apartment, and it's about a 10 minute walk to the lake. When you get there, the only thing to do is walk around and try to avoid the beer bottles and used condoms that litter the shoreline.
Do yourself a favor and avoid Lake Cove at all costs. The leasing office does a very good job covering up what really goes on here. The police department told me that they have to have someone drive through the property a few times every day to make sure that nothing is going wrong.
Save yourself a lot of frustration and STAY AWAY FROM LAKE COVE!!!!!!
