I loved my apartment at Pearlwood. The layout was awesome, tons of closet space, and a very large living room. The kitchen was good. We did have our dishwasher replaced shortly after moving in. We called for them to just fix the door on it (it would fall to the floor) and the next day we came home and found a brand-new dishwasher installed and ready to go. What a nice surprise. They always responded to our maintenance requests the next day, which was awesome.

The other tenents are pretty decent. They don't accept section 8 (at least not when I lived there, and yes I did call and ask specifically. I won't rent anywhere that takes section 8). so the general population is somewhat normal. There are some sketchy folks here and there...but I think you'll find that at any apartment complex. So overall I felt safe.

The office staff is pretty decent. It does seem like a revolving-door there though. None of the original office folks that were there when I moved in are there now. It seemed like almost every time I went in there, there'd be someone different. But that's not a big deal, I guess.

Some advice/tips for Pearlwood:
1. Live on the 3rd floor (this goes for any apartment complex). It'll be quieter and safer.
2. Live in the "clubhouse" building - i.e. the one in which the office is located. The apartments are slightly more expensive (I think $20/mo extra) so they tend to get the most "normal" people to live in that building. It's also great if you want to go swimming, then you don't have to walk outside.
3. When it comes time to move out, replace the drip pans on the stove. My husband cleaned ours for about an hour and they STILL charged us to replace them. So we probably could've gone to walmart and bought some new ones for less than what they charged us.

I would recommend this apartment complex for everyone - young couples, young families, older folks. There was a nice mix of people there.

Sounds like you work/or have worked there...telling people the more expensive buildings are "best", and that staff is revolving, but good, and you got a nice little dishwasher surprise to boot! Recommending it to everyone will really help boost your rental goals ;)
