TOP TEN AND THEN SOME

1.Service is still slow and unimpressive. 2.Tenants told weekend/evening maintenance calls better be life threatening.
3. 95% of apartments have 20 year old carpet and appliances that cost a ton to operate.
4.Heat and water temperatures turned down.
5.Large dogs still accepted, with no place to run/exercise.
6.Car wash hot water turned off and cold water down to a tricle.
7. 70 building designated as dog building; dog waste on grounds a problem.
8.Airconditioner for halls turned off.(Stiffling when 80 and humid outdoors.)
9.A ton of new charges at move out, painting walls and ceilings, sweep garage stalls and must have carpets professionaly cleaned - can't do them yourself.
10.Can't find walking trails or golf course views, tennis court needs resurfacing, exercise equipment needs updating/repairs, people are allowed to possess guns.

It would be nice to think that with all the remodeling taking place and the inconvience created for tenants, service would be stepped up to make up for the smell, dust, dirt and unsightly mess.

Instead tenants are getting an increase in rent by $50-$100 a month to cover remodeling costs.

Additionaly tenants are getting charged monthly to cover the cost of newly installed watersofteners and monthly salt maintenance in the form of charges for water, sewer and trash based on the number of people in apartment, number of bathrooms, apartment square feet - about $100 per month.

The story is: The new owners since February 2004 plan to rehab the place and dump it.

A bonus to current owners: increased rents look attractive to prospective buyers in that it will offset a hugh new mortgage.

Tenant montra is: Why pay their mortgage, when you could pay your own and live better.
