If you like living in the suburbs than I would recommend Southview Gables. I have lived here about ten months and so far the worst thing about this building is my crappy roommate and his trashy girlfriend who i can not stand. Other than the that I do like the apartments. I consider the rent to be reasonable, we pay $859.00 a month to live here and our apartment is a 2bed/2bath and is around 1300 sq ft.
I live in the dog building and the neighbors are all very nice and friendly, I have frequent conversations with them while walking my dogs. There is a $25 a month dog rent per animal but these days it is expensive to take care of an animal and if you can't afford it than you probably shouldn't be a pet owner. I also like that you can have either 2 dogs under 35lbs or 1 dog any size which is nice for folks who have a larger dog because many places won't accept them no matter what kind of temperament they have. There is a fenced in dog park located by the clubhouse which nobody uses very often but is nice if you have a dog that needs a ton of exercise and cannot be trusted off leash. There are also quite of few doggie stations for waste cleanup and the bags are also provided which makes it convenient.
As far as the staff is concerned they are all friendly and/or tolerable at the very least. I don't have much interaction with them but I would consider all my experiences to fairly positive. i love the main maintenance guy named Ed in fact today he came over to fix my broken toilet ten minutes after I called the office to file a work report. I have also had my clothes washer which is the unit and our garbage disposal as well in a timely and professional manner. As far as the grounds are concerned there is an occasional pile of dog crap that someone doesn't clean up but I never really see trash or other things laying around. There are not many kids who live in my building and as far as noise it is minimal. There is a small workout room but it has nice newer machines and the outdoor pool is small but well maintained. There is also a game room with cable tv, free darts, pool, and golden tee. Overall I would recommend these apartments. I don't care for living in the suburbs and am moving back to the city but otherwise I would resign my lease. Definitely worth checking out.

Another review written by management, eh? This is insane, people. The stuff about dogs is untrue - there are breed restrictions, so you can't just have *any* dog. The doggie stations are constantly out of bags. NO ONE is renting a place there for $859/month, certainly not any of the 1300 square foot places. I had an 1100 square foot place and paid close to $1000, and that was over a year ago. Perhaps maintenance has improved since I lived there, but I highly doubt it. Don't be fooled. This place is a trap.

I agree with the previous response. There is not much good to say about the place. Bottom line is that Southview Gables are very average apartments that are over-priced. The management is either incompetent or uncaring or both, which leads to renting to low-class people and maintenance not getting completed. The head maintenance guy when I was there, a tall blonde-haired guy, should not be dealing with people. A blue collar handyman with a bad attitude. There is too much downside to renting at Southview Gables, especially for the price. They don't deserve decent renters there. They have not earned it.

I think both of you are haters. right now is hard times and prices change all the time. And wow, really? Low class? i think your low class for even going there. There are a lot of people out there who are low class but are probably a million times better than you, because they probably work just as hard, if not harder than you so they can have the luxury that other people with different income have. I love their newly remodeled leasing office, and the gym! WOW! i love the brand new everything! Their maintenance people are super nice, and are very helpful. The scenery is AMAZING, and the fact that there are 25 acres of surrounding trails is spectacular! And you know what? i have a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom, and we only pay 893 for it, and its 1350 square feet, i have the lease to prove it, so i think you guys need to open your shallow eyes and accept the truth, and possibly look for deals maybe. Overall i LOVE the Southview Gables

Southview Gables is the worst apartment I have ever lived in. No wonder they try and give away $500 gift cards from Best Buy on Craiglist, they will do anything to get people to live there! The management sucks, the maintenance only fixes things "temporarily" until they break 2 days later, the residents are careless about the property, can't even pick up their animals waste, the building is so old you can see the sheet rock, the appliances are as old as the building, the hallways always smell. They put more money into the pool and fitness center, then the apartments themselves. I also think it's quite pathetic that management would come on this site and put false ratings up. Maybe they should keep themselves busy by answering the telephone, oh and speaking of which, they never do! Please, if you read this, do not live there. I promise you, you will be glad you didn't.

Yup, obviously another management review. This place is a load of crap and I feel sorry for anyone that has just moved in as they have no idea what they have gotten themselves into. I lived here for 4 years the first year was alright, different management and pleasent people in the offices. This ended up changing drastically and management and employees are aweful. These appartments are in drastic need of updates and instead of doing so, they were just concerned with themselves making sure they have nice offices in a building with a party room and fitness center, which both have not been taken very good care of. The Sauna is a joke, it's location,amount of time it is acutually working and the fact management doesn't want water thrown on it. Yup continue to allow rift raft in and soon you wont have any appartments to worry about, it can all just be condemned!
