Nice to you until you try to move out

I moved out of Southview Gables at the end of June 2009. They were okay for the most part throughout the year I lived there. However, when I told them I was moving out, I was provided with a large list of things I needed to clean if I did not want to get charged move out fees. I followed the list and cleaned everything, even though when I originally moved into the apartment it was not very clean. A few weeks after I moved out, a received a letter in the mail stating I owed them an additional $300 above and beyond my damage deposit of $150 for the cleaning of my apartment. I called and talked to them and told them I cleaned everything on their list and it was clean when I left. I told them to send me pictures of the dirty areas, otherwise I would not pay any additional amount. They now are threatening to report my outstanding balance to the credit bureaus.
There are nicer and quieter places out there for the money and I would not risk being charged ridiculous move out fees. You are treated more like a number than a person here.

Southview is managed by Dominium - www.dominiumapartments.com I would not rent any apartment from them ever again. When it's time to rent, make sure you avoid a Dominium property. Obviously they are bad people. Probably owned by attorneys.
