All in all it's not an awful place. I've lived here for a little over a year and here's the pros and cons:

Pros:
Cheap rent
decent location
close to IHCC and Brown if you're going to school
provide you with room mates
no bills but rent
comes partially furnished (couches and such)

Cons:
very crowded
appliances are poor
parking is terrible
can be noisy
carpet is downright gross even after shampooing

All in all for the money you pay it's not exactly awful. It gets VERY VERY crowded when you have more than 2 out of 4 bedrooms occupied, especially if all 4 are. On the plus side, your rent doesn't change even if you have the whole place to yourself. The appliances are pretty bad too, usually the stove has 1-3 burners that actually work, ours has 2 right now. The parking lot is bad, lots of potholes and it's not protected from the extremes at all though there are plenty of spots and there's rarely an issue with who parks where. Neighbors can be noisy especially on friday and saturday night, and there's the occasional person who passes out drunk in the hallway. I went most of the winter without heat even though I told the previous landlord several times about the heat problems. Laundry isn't bad, there's 3 washers and 3 dryers for the building and there's pretty much always at least one open.

However, we have a new landlord now, and the new landlord is very good. I've already had to tell him about several problems in the apartment with the plumbing and he got a plumber in the same day. He's been very efficient about fixing problems with the place, unlike the last landlord that made me go all winter without heat and actually showed the apartment both without heat and another time when the shower wouldn't turn off. All in all there's been a pretty good improvement in management since we're under new ownership now, and they're quite efficient about fixing problems.
