DON'T MOVE TO SOUTHFORK!

I wish I had read these reviews before moving to Southfork. Take these reviews seriously. If you see one out of 10 positive reviews, what does that say about the odds that you'll end up being one of them. I think the post by the former EMPLOYEE of Southfork who said the office staff would write reviews to boost their ratings is very telling. Since I left I've met many current and former residents and NONE of them had anything good to say about Southfork. All the current residents say they can't wait to get out. There are plenty of lovely rentals in the south metro. Try Carrington Court in Burnsville(if you don't have a dog). The place is well-maintained and you get plenty of notice to move your car when they plow. The office staff is responsive too. Don't get sucked in to Southfork just because they have a very well-appointed model. Your apartment won't look like that! Save yourself the nightmare and bypass Southfork!

The statement about the EMPLOYEE writing reviews is very true. As a past employee I was told that I had to do on and write a positive review. It was either I do it or lose I job. Now I know I would have rather lost my job instead of help out that ****hole. Ann is a huge liar and will turn her back on you in a heartbeat. DID YOU ALL KNOW THAT SHE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A DEGREE TO DO PROPERTY MANAGEMENT. NICE huh!

I am Ann, the Manager of Southfork. I have been with this company for 14 years and very proud to say that. In this business (as many) we try to please everyone, we are not always able to do that (we will keep trying...). I have seen many people move back in to Southfork because they say they were happier here than anywhere else. We have many residents who have lived here 5 years and several that have lived her 10 (that should speak for itself). We always encourage every "soon to be resident" of Southfork to view their actual home before they move in (remember how I always wanted you to do that when you were leasing here?). For the person who wrote this review, if you have any concerns in your home here at Southfork, please call the office and give us a chance to fix what ever is wrong. As far as writing a good review or losing your job...that is silly. I hope you all give Southfork a chance. Stop by and see for yourself!

Anne is a two faced -----. Along with the rest of her so called staff. We lived there for a year and had meth heads as neighbors that called the cops on everyone every chance they got. They were paranoid people so far as to get security cameras put up which ended up getting taken down and kept by maitenance. When I told Ann about the security cameras she said it was the police who had to deal with it. I'm sorry but that's a rental property and one would think that it would be the MANAGER who is responsible for something like that. We complained about numerous things and nothing was ever fixed right. Our washer and dryer smelled like mildew and I was given a key to go across the parking lot to another building to do laundry. That's --------. Let's see I had a collector plate fall of the wall because they went out and jackhammered the sidewalk without letting us know about it. Never got reimbursed for that. Our place almost broken into and the screen was busted - they never fixed that - we did it ourselves. Should I go on? I'd rather be a bum living on the streets than rent from that c---!!!!!

I just want to say as someone who is currently living here I have never once had a problem with Ann or her staff. I have put in maintaince requests and had them taken care of in about 48 hours. I don't spend my time talking with the people in the office but they seem like nice people. I have never once seen drug deals, meth heads or criminals in the neighborhood. If I had to label the area I would say it is a lot of young couples (w or w/o children) and recent retirees. I talk to my neighbors and they don't have anything bad to say.

We lived there for five years and when we put our notice in, we were treated like criminals and ended up having to go to court to get our deposit back. We won the lawsuit, plus penalties. Southfork was suing fourteen, that's right, FOURTEEN other tenants on the same day as our court date. I don't know how many other people won their suit that day, but there were a lot of people crying in that courtroom. You can take two things away from that story; A: Southfork has no respect or loyalty to even their most long-term and well-behaved tenants, and B: If you rent there, 80% of your neighbors are so trashy that they need to be sued for their rent. Classy joint. You can find better south of the river, you can even find better in Lakeville. Do not get snowed by a cute sales pitch. One way or another, Southfork will disappoint you.

I've been here a little while and I like it. It is right by a highway entrance and shopping strip but still quiet. No place is perfect. The one thing that could be a bit better is the garages are very tight, to the extent you can't really open your car door much inside them. It's also a challenge sometimes to back out without bumping someone else's car due to the layout.
