I lived in two different apartments at Grand Pre East over the course of three years. The first one was right next to the garbage chute. At any time, day or night, expect loud crashes of trash hitting the dumpster and the slow, mechanical noise of the chute being pulled back up. At this point in time, management was pretty good.

I left my one bedroom apartment and thanks to the best woman working there (Maggie, who no longer works there), I was able to move into a studio apartment essentially overnight. I'd done my best to clean everything upon moving out but knew that the job wasn't done perfect by any stretch. It wasn't filthy, but I didn't have enough time to go over it with a fine-toothed comb. My deposit return' $92. So I went to the front desk to inquire as to why so little was given back to me. The reply was that the bathtub wasn't spotless, the air conditioner had to be wiped down and a few other extremely small details. I thanked the woman at the front desk for letting me know, and two weeks later, I received an additional deposit check for around $200. Not a lot but considering that all I had to do was ask...

The studio apartment I moved into was right next to a very large, noisy air vent outside that sounded like a jet taking off at seemingly random intervals. My neighbors complained if I sneezed loudly and management started making threats.

A package was sent to me in April but the office never mentioned it until the end of May. There was no note, no phone call, no anything until nearly two months after the package had arrived. Thanks, office people!

Last, but not least, management was extremely inconsiderate/incompetent when it came to scheduling showings for my apartment after I'd given them the required two calendar months' notice. Phone calls would usually start like this: "I know this appointment isn't scheduled, but would you mind if we showed your apartment today at
