I am a current renter at the "Downtowner Apartments". I have lived here almost 4 years and have been, generally, very satisfied while living here. My apartment needs some updates, and I know if I addressed them, something would be done. But when there have been issues, they have been addressed immediately (problem with lights, the occasional slow drain, leaky ceiling, etc). The first six months, I had my car "broken" into several times, but I have had NO issues with it since (I do not park in garage). The building itself is well maintained, both cleanliness (I'd say, compared to others I've seen, it is impeccable) and improvements around building. Laundry room is wonderful (10w & 10d) are available 24/7 and are all working (not without, of course, the occasional O.O.O machine). Above all, the current manager - Doug Riebesell - is quite the guy. Knowledgeable, professional and always friendly. Same with Gary, who works maintenance. My biggest complaint: the walls are VERY thin. I can hear everything from both neighbors and hallway - even when talking is at a normal level. I can't not hear anything from other floors, however.
I am not a student (in other words, my stay here is not just temporary) I live here with my family and it is my home. Today, I do not wish to or plan to leave here.
