Pissed off! NOT animal friendly!

Lets start from the top.
1. They did an okay job cleaning the apartment. My boyfriend and I were still able to fill almost the entire "first inspection" sheet with problems that we spotted around the place, including the closet door being smashed in on the back! HOW DO YOU MISS THAT?!
2. We submit a maintenance request in November...we're nearing the end of February and no response. We currently have a broken living room light and a kitchen faucet that rusted loose from the sink!
3. We tried to have animals in our apartment, but they want $450 dollars, non-refundable, for both of my animals! PLUS, the maintenance, when they come for stupid --- reasons, don't care that you have animals and would gladly hold the door open to your apartment and let tham have a chance to escape.
4. The internet is SO ------- SLOW! KMS is -------- internet, that's for sure.
I could go on, but I'm just going to say this...just don't do it! It's horrible!

Highland Hills has historically been a pit run by slumlords - there are laws in place about maintenance requests - check with the local MSU attorney [if there is one] or go to Southern MN Regional Legal Services [their office is on the 3rd floor of the downtown mall. Mankato is known for hosting lousy landlords - the housing office is to blame: they are supposed to be working on behalf of tenants but their dumb-as-dirt dept head [Patti Ziegler] doesn't know her job description & is a product of this local low-class environment. My advice, 1-get legal help to get out of your lease & find another place - 2-file a complaint with the Minnesota Better Business Bureau [if everyone did this, maybe things would change] - 3-then finish school & get the hell out of this cesspool called Southern-Hick Minnesota - Mankato has always been a backwoods little hick town. And if you ever complain, the little group of hicks who run this town will retaliate - happened to us more than once. There have been hundreds of complaints over the years about Highland Hills & other places [another rotten company is INH Property Mgmt]. You would think Mankato would be concerned - nope! Mankato: Little Hick on the Prairie. Good luck.
