This place is complete crap. They go tow happy whenever they feel. They don't notify tenants of anything. For example, they had everyone from the north side park in the south side so they could plow the north. They are required per their manual to give a 24 hours notice. We got a 3 hour notice. We parked 5 blocks away and walked back to our apartment in -45 degree windchill. The staff is not knowledgeable one bit. You can ask the same question to the same person on three different days and get three different answers. They are all rude and fake ignorance. Their maintenance staff is a complete joke. I got b!tched at by one of the maintenance guys for something that broke off of their shoddy equipment. It sometimes takes three or four maintenance requests before they even come to look at it, and a few more requests before it ever gets fixed, that is if they even do it right in the first place. The parking is ridiculous. They hardly ever tow violators (however, they feel no remorse towing their paying residents). Their parking lots and side walks are glare ice in the winter. This place is out to make money. They couldn't give a rats a** about their residents. greedy. They take the cheap way out of everything and do all they can to make a quick buck. not to mention they only allow you to have cable and internet through them. KMS is a joke. Cable and internet are outragously expensive and you dont get anything for it. they go out all the time too, sometimes for several days. And they phone number, both for tech support and billing they give you are disconnected and dont exist so there is no way to complain to them about anything. I am so sick of their crap. The grounds are terrible. The sidewalks are not even, whatsoever. Outside looks disgusting. Litter everywhere, poor upkeep on buildings, etc. I don't feel safe being outside, especially at night walking home from night class. The fixtures, appliances, buildings are old, outdated, and inefficient. They have terrible drafts in the winter. Even if I have the heat going 24/7, it is still like 55 degrees in my apartment. The staff in the office seem to be upset that we even are coming into the office, since that is what they are there for. They people at the desk are younger, the people who actually run the place are aged 30-60 and are all very unpleasant to talk to. Some of them don't look like they are capable of smiling. Overall, like most everyone else, I regret having ever signed past, current and future leases here. I would never never ever recommend anybody live here and put themselves in such a position. Avoid this place at all costs. Stay far away from highland. far, far away.

OK - will one of you tenants please file a complaint with the Consumer Division of the MN Attorney General Office?? Highland Hills is run by a fraudulent, corrupt bunch - ALSO, go to Channel 5 News in the Cities - they are very good about investigating these scams. Some of what is being done is illegal. Mankato & their Housing Office obviously doesn't care [yet they brag up the city when trying to recruit students] - the person who starts getting something done will have a HUGE following as there have been hundreds of students scammed over the years. Don't complain anymore - do something!!! Simply forward the Apartment Ratings link to them or call! We are not students & did not live there so we can't do it for you.
