The actual apartments are pretty nice, especially the model, but when my roommates and I first moved in, it seriously seemed like they did not clean the apartment at all besides maybe vacuumed.

There were obvious painted patches in our walls, ceiling, doors, etc.

The carpet was stained, a leg on the coffee table they gave us was broken, and part of the coffee table was coming off.

I know that they did not clean our bathrooms because there was still stuff from the last people that lived here underneath the sink in the cabinet.
The maintenance staff takes literally forever to fix things, and you're going to freeze your butt off in the winter because the heat sucks in the bedrooms.

The living room and kitchen will get sauna hot, but your rooms and the hallway is literally 20 degrees colder-especially if you don't keep your door open so the heat can circulate in.

They do not shovel the sidewalks in the winter, and the place might as well be an ice rink.

They plow, but I really do not even see the point since they just compact the snow and make it ice.

They also make you move your car to the free lot or on the street by the trailer park while they take 3-4 hours to do it; if you don't they WILL tow your car.
If you live on the first or 2nd floor, good luck with trying to sleep.

You literally can hear everything through the floors--people sound like elephants walking above you.

The walls and floors are obviously really thin.

The management is strict about everything, especially paying rent on time, and will be quick to bill you about stupid things-i.e.

$50.00 per bag of trash that you do not put in the compacter (they will literally dig through the trash to find out whose it is.)
If you have visitors--good luck with having them finding a parking spot in the "guest lot" which literally has 20 parking spots.

And unless you live in the 700 or 800 building, they're going to have to walk quite a ways.

Half the time kids who live in the dorms who are too cheap to pay for a parking permit will park their cars there, so only about half of the spots are ever open.

If you don't have a pass on your car, THEY WILL TOW IT, and then charge you 70 dollars to get it out--even if you come out before the guy is about to tow your car, YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY!
When the power went out, the emergency lights in the hall literally worked for 45 minutes and then went out.
The hot tub is huge, but its been closed a lot because of people breaking glass in and around it.

The tanning bed is always booked, so you're better off buying a tanning package at a local salon.

The office has a lot of problems, everyone in there seems pretty confused about a lot of things.

Communication with staff is obviously a problem.

If you talk to one person, you better get their name, otherwise anyone else working in the office will literally have no idea what you are talking about.

They're also really disorganized.

I signed a lease, they told me to fax it to them, so I did.

But, then I had to drive back to Mankato to sign another one because they had lost the first one.

Sometimes they make "mistakes" and charge twice for rent per month, or something along the same lines, and you'll get an overdue balance notice.

9.8 times out of 10, my roommates and I have found out it has been their mistake because of office disorganization--but trust me, its extremely frustrating to fix this issue, especially when it happens more than once.

You're seriously better off going somewhere else.

It is not worth the extra 125-150 dollars a month.

They heat the hallways-that's nice, and so are the washers and dryers in the unit...but that's about it.

Half of these complaints match up with my own experiences 3 years ago. I highly doubt any of this is a lie or even an exaggeration. Stay away and find a better place to rent where the heat works in ALL rooms during the winter!

I completely agree. I had a room that had no heat circulation, it was horrible! Electricity overages came out of no where and didn't make any sense. To add another thing, the bus stop isn't heated and it's not close enough to school to walk when it's snowing out. They need to make some changes for charging that much rent in Mankato. It was so cold in my room, even after I covered the windows in plastic!! I had to run my fan all the time to drown out the noise.

You literally need to look up the meaning of "literally"
