I have lived at Mallard Ridge for almost 2 years now. There are definately some small negatives to this property but overall I really like my apartment. When I first moved in, the kitchen and bathrooms were not remodeled and reflected the early 90's...I was promised a remodel for both soon after moving in; however, the remodel occurred 6 months after move in (my neighbors who moved in after me received a remodel before me!) and only after repeatedly complaining to the rental office and the management company. That said, I really love how my apartment looks now.

There are also some small negatives to Mallard Ridge: Only allowed one garage spot and I don't feel the parking lot is the most safe for your car, my storage space is not located next to my car (rather next to someone else's and their car blocks my locker door), no outgoing mailboxes (have to put mail on top of boxes to be picked up), neighbors cigarrette smoke permeates through bathroom, dryer, and stove vents, takes a while to get hot water and not consistent temp when showering.

On a much more positive note the remodeled kitchen is beautiful (small & not much storage space though), the bathrooms are also nice, the floorplan is nice and open, the amenities are nice and the apartment staff is friendly. Also it's nice that they do not charge a pet rent for my cat! I think this is a great place to start out saving money to purchase a home.

I think some of your review is right. Its called the Negatives. You also forgot to ad besides the crime here at mallard ridge, theres NO parking, There's always construction because the place if falling down, the staff ONLY cares about money in their pocket, thres mold in these apartments, corbon monoxide fills the apartments above the garage, Youre heating/cooling bill will be HUGE because the staff admits that the windows are NOT up to specifications, and there's always police entering the lot because of criminals. And if you do settle for substndard living and move here, remember, record all the things wrong with your apartment so that you don't get stuck paying for the things they won't pay for and fix!

I have never seen the police at this apartment complex and I have lived here a year. Were they perhaps visiting YOU while you lived here?

I agree with the first response. I have called the police myself because my car got broke into and my stereo was ripped out. I've also seen the police a couple of times here dealing with others. It's getting worse all the time. Maple Grove Police say the asian gangs come from Brooklyn Park and they target anything Honda. So think seriously about moving here if you have one. So even the positive review sounded like alot of negatives, really.
