Good Apartment/Good Managment

I think it is interesting that everyone posting a negative review is not an actual tenant of the building. They all sound like people who are very irritated that there is not an apartment available for them. 1301 has a tenant return rate of around 75%, therefore there are not many rooms available for a college of 50,000. Also, if so many people continue to renew their lease year after year they must not have a problem with the building or management. I have lived in 1301 for 2 years and have already signed on for a third year. The building is beautiful with a great location and great amenities. It is also very convenient be located above the purple onion, a popular coffee shop and cafe. As for the management, they do a good job managing such a popular apartment complex. The management staff is very personable and makes an effort to know their tenants. While they are overjoyed that 1301 is the most in-demand housing on campus, they become extremely overwhelmed when hundreds of applicants apply for only a few rooms. The purpose of this website is to rate apartment buildings, not to personally degrade specific individuals.
I am very happy living at 1301 and would recommend to anyone.

These are unprovoked attacks we're talking about. We're not cavemen or thugs! Just because someone asks politely for a tour, management has no right to DEGRADE them, just because he can.

when John is the manager of 1301 he is a major aspect of that building so when rating the apartment it is not ridiculous for someone to focus on him, especially if meeting him was the only experience they had with 1301.

John or one of his buddies wrote this. The only reason people renew is because its a nice building, DESPITE John managing it. I know this because I have renewed twice despite him, and know probably half the people in this building. Tenants do nothing but talk ---- about John and act nice to his face just to stay on his good side. BELIEVE ME.....NO ONE likes him!!!

Actually I wouldn't consider myself one of John's buddies. I wasn't on his Hall of Fame email, I am not a person he has ever come to hang out with, in fact I would guess he would rather go hang out with the majority of the people in the building before me. I, just like many of the tenants of 1301 have seen that sometimes he can be maybe not be the politest - HOWEVER haven't we all been guilty of that at some point in our lives? And after hearing the horrible things he has to deal with during leasing season I can only imagine how difficult it would be to deal with angry parents and students who are frustrated about not being able to get into the building.
And for you to say you renewed despite the management. Think about all the things we are blessed with because of the management at 1301 that other apartments don't have the luxury of.
- If you happen to be late paying rent there is never a late fee
- The police are never called to break up parties, even though sometimes they should be
- If someone parks in a tenants parking spot they are immediately towed
- If you put in a request to have something fixed, they come to fix it the next day
- They respect your space - always give 24 hours notice before entering to fix something.
- The management lives in the building, therefore you can get a hold of them anytime of day.
I think it is fine to provide criticism and honest review for the building, but it is not ok to personally degrade an individuals character for the whole world to see.
