I lived in 1301 for a year and was treated unfairly and with disrespect. The management made verbal promises, stating that we would not need anything in writing because "everything would be fine," only to not keep those promises later. When we agreed to sublet our apartment for the summer, with the management's approval and written consent, the manager made a verbal promise to the girls moving in that they could move in 5 days early, WHILE WE WERE STILL LIVING THERE,ON THE LEASE, AND PAYING RENT. When we stood up for ourselves, the manager yelled at us, swore at us, and threatened to sue us (because HE made a mistake) The manager is very arrogant and unprofessional and will threaten to evict anyone who he simply does not like. The people who are still living there are the ones that the manager has chosen to favor for whatever reason pleases him. My roommates and I were some of those "favored tenants" until we stood up for ourselves and our legal rights. Although the apartments are very nice, it is not worth it to live there as long as the current management is in place.

i really appreciate you writing in. I wondered if i was one of the only ones that experienced their way of business. They do not have a set standard for how things work, it is very up in the air. They change the rules depending on how much they like you or how they feel that day. one of the managers that does all the maintanance is a total sweetheart and takes his job very seriously, while the other manager is a total pompous jerk. Thank you for writing in. i always watch this website to see if anyone else has shared their experiences. It is good to spread the word that 1301 is run by someone who is unprofessional and a total druggie! thanks again, hopefully our stories will encourage others to stand up for themselves or find somewhere else to live....isnt it funny how ---- can love you one day, but the minute you challange him you are his worst enemy!!! interesting.......

i completely agree with both of you! ---- is the worst landlord I have ever had to deal with. He also gave us a verbal agreement about something and then took it back when it came time for us to get what we needed. When we also fought for our rights he completely turned around the situation and made it seem like we were being rude to him and he was really degrading towards us. We were nothing but nice to him, and continue to be in fear that he will randomly kick us out! I can't wait to leave this place and hopefully never see his drunk ass again!
