I have currently lived here for 2 months. I have asked several times for things including an oven knob with degree marks on it so I know where 350 is. I have recieved no knob, no answers to my other questions. The carpet was in horrible shape when I moved in including rust spots, worn to the floor carpet. NO PADDING what-so-ever. The first few weeks in April have been above normal for the weather. With temps in the 70's during the day and in the 50's for nighttime lows. So the managment company UPI shut off the heat. Fine no problem. Except that the weather is COLD again. The current daytime high was 47 degrees with a windchill of 42. The low tonight is supposed to be in the mid to low 30's. This trend is supposed to continue into next week. When asked why there is no heat we are told that it is not that cold. When we asked the managment if the heat is on in their own homes we are told "YES." Is this right to treat you PAYING tenants like this''' Should I really have to go into my car in the morning to WARMUP''This has been the biggest mistake so far to pick UPI as the management company for the place I call home! The view is great but it is not worth the pain I have been put through.

according to mn ordinance and issues relevant to the "emergency tenant remedies act"/etra if it is 60 degrees outside it must be 60 degrees inside. to get their butts moving tell them they have 24 hours before you file. it is the quickest way to get them in court. some other things will qualify for the etra as well, but unfortunately not as many things as you'd hope. check mn ordinance also at municode.com and if they fail at things in there call the mpls gov at 612-673-3000. the mpls gov can send out a housing inspector and if they do not fix things by the time the inspector has given them you can let the inspector know and the inspector will check and fine them $200.
