Angry Resident

This place sucks. I get woken up every morning by 8:30 at the latest by their staff messing around in the trash room (and the garbage truck doesn't come until after noon) and when I asked nicely for them to sort the trash at a later time, they ignored me and came back the same time the next day. They didn't tell me when I signed my lease there would be so much noise by my bedroom (or that the walls here are practically made of cardboard) and do not care when I get woken up in the middle of the night by their maintenance workers. Maybe I just got a bad room location, but it is unprofessional that they are unwilling to make reasonable accomodations in their staff's routine to make sure they do not give their tenants sleep exhaustion. They have a bobcat that they use to clear snow in the winter (usually after 11pm at night or later), that you can hear through the floor of the garage and out on the grounds after they take it out. Poor insulation on the floor. Also, if anyone has motorcycles in the garage, you can hear them through your floor as well.
Also, there's usually lots of neighborhood noise when the U of M is busy, as Argyle is across the street from a parking ramp that is taller than the building. Makes for quite an ugly view.
Also, their workout room has no functioning windows, no way to turn on a/c, and is always boiling hot. It takes several days for them to get around to figuring out the temperature, and the cool air only lasts about a day before its hot again.
I lived in the other property owned by these same people, Dinnaken house, before, and it took me two months of complaining before they fixed a leak in the ceiling... after it had destroyed a bunch of boxes and posters in our storage closet. Guess that should have been a sign that I should have left them completely, not moved to another one of their buildings...
As far as safety goes, no problems with Argyle, it's well lit, has a secure door, and someone staffing a desk at night, but the neighborhood's not the best; I had a friend get her car stolen at gunpoint in 2004, from the parking lot of the tiny apartment building that shares the block with Argyle, whose parking lot is across the fence from Argyle's court yard.
Ok, the nice things about this place, to be honest: It is kept pretty clean. The apartments inside are not fancy, but everything works as it should. It is nice to have a garage to park in in MN.
