In 2 months, we are out of here. I m seriously counting down the days.
If you like crack heads roaming around the streets, people getting into arguments right in front of your building, car alarms going off every morning, people honking their car horns constantly (funny, right when I typed that someone honked their horn), the apartment being in poor condition when you move in, paying $35 for a parking space, and not wanting to walk around your neighborhood at all....this place is for you!!!
As a female, this place is a nightmare.
Last week we put our 2 months notice in. 2 days ago, while my boyfriend was sleeping and I was at work, he heard the door unlock and then a knock. He was just waking up when the doorknob started turning and he jumped up and locked it and said "hello'" It was a maintenance guy. He said he "just checking the key" and asked if we had water damage. My boyfriend said no and the guy left. When I got home I looked in the mail and got a letter from Steven's Community saying a maintenance guy would be coming around to our apartment within 4 days and WOULD GIVE A COURTESY CALL BEFORE THEY CAME. They never called. They would have just walked right in.
Also - if you do come to check out apartments, give them a full price range you are willing to pay a month and ask to see the cheapest one FIRST. They showed us 1 apartment (the one we have now) and said that s all they had in that price range, which was not true. Our friends later moved into an apartment by us and they are paying $150 less than us and they almost have the same size apartment. They also have a den in their apartment, which we don t have.
If you ever have a maintenance issue and call the maintenance office, the manager is very rude with a rude attitude and acts like she is going out of her way to get someone over to your place. We had problems with power outages (woman you cant use hair dryers that are over 750 watts!) and every time we called, she was a snob.

Apparently this person is not interested in living in the neighborhood, which I absolutely LOVE. If you are too sensitive and afraid to live in a city, then move back to your parent's place in the suburs. My experience with the manager at the Belmont has always been positive and the location cannot be beat as it sits between Uptown, Downtown and the lakes. Oh, and have I mentioned it is CHEAP so, really, what does this person expect?!?!

Who needs a APT manager that talks cheap and tries to suck you in to renew your lease and steals from your unite?. I agree with this member.
