I had once loved this place

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005
I lived in the Blemont for 2 years. I spent my first year in an apartment on the first floor and my second year in a slighty larger studio on the 3rd. It was my first, and last apartment I had in Minneapolis and there is a part of me that misses it today. I see that many people have written negative reviews in the last couple years, so maybe it has gone downhill since, but I have nothing but positive things to say for the time I spent there. First off, Mary the manager was very gracious to me. She went out of her way to get my paperwork through in the beginning and never delayed in getting any repairs done in my room, or assisting me in changing apartments in the building. She was always friendly and someone you could sit and chat with in her office. She even kept my rent low the second year when it should have gone up. I got $100 each time I recommended a friend to the building and got my full deposit back within a few weeks after moving out. The building was always on the quieter side, and I often wondered if I was the only person living in the building as I rarely saw, or heard, any of my neighbors. I had a car but did not pay to park in the parking lot as there was always a spot on Colfax or Dupont. Sure the building is old and the floors are squeaky, but I felt it gave my apartment a character that I liked. If I ever move back to the city I will definitely contact Mary about an apartment in the Belmont. If it has in fact gone down in recent months, then I guess I will see for myself.
