I lived in this building for 6 years and the first 4 1/2 were pretty decent. The last year and a half quickly became a constant source of irritation. The building management changed and I started to feel like I was in prison. They began instituting new procedures that I wasn't comfortable with. They always claimed I had a choice with these procedures, but if I chose to remain with the originals, they became rather obviously annoyed and treated me poorly. They began increasing several fees because they were supposedly "remodeling" the building for the tenants benefit. The only thing I ever saw done was the entry areas got some new curtains and carpet and few new pieces of furniture. Nothing was done with the outdated apartments or the hallways. I lived in a second floor apartment and while I always heard noise from above me, I lived with it because I knew it was an old building and that creaks are unavoidable. However, I was above the caretaker's apartment (of which I saw at least 3 sets move in and out over 4 years) and I constantly was being griped to because of noise, even though all I had to do was walk across the floor in a normal fashion for them to complain. The laundry room and trash chute were almost to the far end of the building from where I was located and then to carry something that far only to find that the chute was "out of order" or that there were no washers or dryers available was frustrating. I had an outside corner apartment and it was always freezing in the winter and roasting in the summer, no matter what. Maintenance was unresponsive for about the last year I lived there, so I finally became fed up with the mounting problems and gave my notice.
