Nice place to live, but not clean at move-in

My husband and I have only lived here for a short while, and we have mixed reviews. The location is awesome and the workout room and pool are nice. The laundry room is nice too and I have never had a problem with being able to use a machine. Although a lot of people complain about the elevators, I have not had a problem with them. The longest I have had to wait is about 5 minutes.
My biggest complaint is that our apartment was NOT clean when we moved in, especially the kitchen. There was white cat hair (at least I'm hoping it was a cat, and not a rat) all over the tops of our cupboards. We found several miscellaneous items inside the cupboards, including an empty Coke can, batteries, masking tape, and the electrical outlet covers. It was obvious that our cupboards hadn't even been LOOKED in before we moved in, and that the maintenance staff who perhaps did repairs to our apartment before we moved in were just plain lazy by leaving an empty Coke can inside one rather than find a garbage can. I documented all of this on our move-in checklist but never received an apology by the leasing office or an offer to clean the tops and insides of the cupboards. The bathroom toilet was not all that clean either.
Also, I do agree that it is a bit noisy in both the hallways and in the area outside around our apartment, but I think that is just a by-product of living downtown.
So, if you don't mind having to do a bit of cleaning when you move in, I would recommend living at the Churchill.
