I've lived in the Churchill Apartments since June of 2007, and I actually read reviews on apartment sites like ApartmentRatings.com for things to consider. Since I've moved in here, I don't have any complaints at all to make and a lot of the ones I've read about on here are dependent on several factors, so I thought I'd give my own review.
I've read complaints about noise; first of all, if you're going to live in downtown Minneapolis, that's obviously something that you'll have to endure, but it depends on what floor and side of the building you are on as to the extent of the noise. It's not as quiet as the suburbs, but you won't find any place downtown that is. When my doors and windows are closed, I sleep fine and am never kept up by anything else, especially neighbors. The walls are VERY thick, so you don't have to worry about noisy neighbors or anybody that's too loud. In the springtime and summertime, I keep my balcony door open though, and I still sleep well.
The grounds and entrance of the building are exquisite. Probably one of the nicest "entrances" in all of Minneapolis. In the spring and summertime when the fountain is operational, it's a beautiful sight. Easy to impress friends and family when they come to visit. ;)
I'm a well-built male, so I've never had safety concerns, but the Churchill Apartments are the beginning of the skyway, so you can get just about anywhere downtown without even having to go outside, and any friends (male and female) that I've had come over have never had any problems when it comes to safety. It's downtown in a large city, so common sense applies anywhere you are.
I can't comment on the maintenance of the building, because I haven't had to call them for anything to my apartment since I've moved in here, but from what I hear from others I know in the building, they are responsive and respond to issues promptly.
I don't know where the complaints regarding the staff come from, because they've been nothing but wonderful since I've lived here. It's actually what "sold me" on the Churchill Apartments. I looked at 5 or 6 other units before I moved in here, and seeing Annette (a leasing agent) interacting with residents sold me - she knew everybody's name, greeted them kindly, etc. It made me think that if I ever DID have an issue, it would be nice that they'd know who I am, compared to some other places where the customer service was well below-average.
Overall, I would give the Churchill Apartments an A- so far since I've lived here. I don't like is not having a washer and dryer in my unit, but the laundry room is on the main floor, open 24 hours a day, and there's always available washers and dryers, and you don't need quarters! Also, at peak times during the day, the elevators are extremely slooooooooooow, but I've heard they're spending a lot of money updating them this year, so hopefully that's true.
It's also connected to the Churchill Market, a liquor store, as well as a movie store, so it's great not having to even go outside in the winter or when it's raining to get pizza and a movie. Being halfway between the Metrodome and the new Twins stadium is ideal as well. I still live here and will check back from time to time if anybody has any questions and responses.

How about parking? I have not heard a thing about it.

Parking space for your guests is minimal. When they built this building they didn't put in enough parking spaces, in the parking garage, for all the apartments available, thus, they allow residents to park outside in the guest parking. You don't pay by the month in the guest parking, just get a sticker and the security guard knows you are a resident. Parking in the indoor parking is $85 a month per car and there is no heat in the winter. If you are having company and they need a space, there is a sign-in sheet after you enter the building. Of course, they only have security from three in the afternoon until six am the next morning so there is no one to check if someone who isn't suppose to park in the front or back of the building is parking there. On the weekends you can park all day in the back of the building, if there are spaces available, where the day care facility has spaces. After seven pm you can park in the day care spaces during the work week. All in all, the parking for your company is dismal.
