Elevators of course is a big problem. One elevator has been out all summer. Apparently they are all going to be fixed and this is the first one.
Another complaint is entry of people that you don't know whether they live there or not. There's a policeman stationed right inside the lobby, so I've never worried about safety. But still so many people wait to piggy back into the building.
Laundry room has been updated and is very nice. No problems there.
Fitness room is good. 3 new flat panel TV's. All the machines work. Maybe a bit small compared to some fitness areas I have seen. New cedar being put in the Sauna, although I've never used it. Swimming pool is okay. Hardly gets used as far as I can tell.
We will see if I have any problems getting my damage deposit back as I am moving out soon. I was told that I won't recieve the damage deposit up to 21 days after my move out date. I get worried that they'll try to blame you for existing problems (mildew) because it's happened to me before. We'll see...
My main complaint is that I feel that the rent is way too much for the mediocre apartment itself. I would stay at my apartment if rent was dropped to $1000 or so.
There is nothing that sets this place apart other than the balconies and location. It is an old building and the residents for the past couple years have had to put up with too may renovations, ie. elevators, laundry room.
