We had both good and bad experiences at Cottages. For us maitenence was usually pretty prompt, simply due to the fact that we insisted on calling and bugging them daily until they did it. The building is fairly old, and the garage stalls suck-the key locks don't work very well, and pretty much they just put WD40 on to fix it. Since its an old building you can hear a lot-recommend living on 3rd floor (1 or 2 bedroom) as to not be awaken by your neighbors walking around. The pool is really nice and pretty much vacant at all times in the summer-this is because they run it like a prison. There are so many rules to abide by they you are better off not even going down to the pool.

We are a little ticked off that upon move out they force you to get the carpets professionally cleaned-not sure if that's legal or not- I would think that with the rent that we are paying for the oldness of the building, carpet cleaning should be taken care of by them-isn't that a part of turning over an apartment when you move out-pretty sure they can use that stinkin' application fee that's ridiculous for covering part or all of the carpet cleaning. I'd recommend this place for quiet, rule abiding and private people. Not recommendend for young singles-management doesn't like that population

I think this review is a little unfair. The management has rules, they have them in writing, and you have to abide by them. They keep this older building complex in excellent condition. You cannot find this type of rental anywhere for this amount of rent. It's an excellent deal. I came from a 3br 2ba rental home after 8 years, and welcome not having to do outdoor maintenance. Having a pool is a definite PLUS in my book, they keep it nice and clean. I live in a 1st floor unit, and do hear quite a bit of walking from the tenant upstairs, as well as outdoor highway noise from 169... small price to pay for one-level, easy living...at a reasonable price. I feel safe here, and the people I have met have been friendly and nice.
