We take our residential experience and concerns voiced by our residents (and their families) very seriously, and deal with our residents in the highest regard. There have been no substantive allegations made of the nature expressed in the post Warning Dangerous Living . If there is ever a concern that any resident raises, we thoroughly investigate and take appropriate action. The Warning Dangerous Living post is retaliatory for not being released from a lease.

Nice try to cover up Melrose. Parents-BEWARE GIRLS-BE CAREFUL
From: Anonymous Date: 02/09/2008
As a fairly conservative parent who was leary of letting my daughter living off campus, I can attest to the safety of Melrose. No other off campus apartments have a security team walking around the building. The claims made above sound like a student posing as a parent. I'm guessing the student pulled some tricks and is sore about her experience with Melrose. I've spoken with many other fellow Melrose parents and have heard unanimously that it is a very safe living environment, even the safest, around campus. Also it is a lot better than the dorms because your child is not stuck having drunk roommates/hallmates stagger into their living space at insane times of night. I highly recommend Melrose.

By the way it sounds, I would surmise the above 'parent' to be 1) ignorant or 2) they have never visited Melrose at night. As a parent, I have once run to the aid of a daughter who was in a breakdown and bypassed ALL of the 'security' without any questions asked. I even walked by the security guard and he never raised an eye brow. Yes, there are guards patrolling, but security seems to be the last thing on their minds. Be careful wherever you send your children. There is no such thing as a totally safe place and only ignorant people think otherwise.
