I lived in Elmwood Apts from 2007-8 and was generally satisfied. We never had big problems with management and felt extremely safe living there. The only problem my roommates and I ran into was the management decided to tile everything in the complex mid-lease. For two to three months, the workers tiled the main hallway (of the complex) and the walls of both our living room and kitchen area. With all of the floors in the apartment already tiled, the excessive tiling made us feel like we were residing in a big bathroom. Other than that, it's a great place to live. It's within walking distance to the U of M and on-street parking is usually easy to find on nights and weekends.
