If you aspire to co-habitate with mice and bugs, only want hot water 4 out of 7 days of the week, enjoy the scent of second hand marijuana smoke and losing power on a regular basis, the Lakewood Isles is the place for you!
Moving into this building, my roommate and I were super excited because on the surface, it was a building that appeared to have a lot of character, a good location and a reasonable price. However, as we lived here longer, we realized this was totally untrue. The management is rude and unwilling to work with you. The temperature within the units are always imbalanced - usually it feels like a sauna but when it is cold outside, it is also cold in your apartment and the hot water is nonexistent. The security in the building is also nonexistent. Doors are always propped open and you never know who's coming in and out. When we toured the building, we were told we could set up the buzzer to our phones, but when we moved in, it turned out that the buzzer system doesn't even work!!
I could continue, but I wont. This building has a great location and a relatively safe feel (disregarding the fact that my car was broken into and stripped down). In a sense, you get what you pay for, but there are several buildings in the area that are much higher quality for the same price.
