Marimark Apartments- A Complete Review

Verdict: Choose this if you want to stay downtown for the cheapest prices. Do not choose this building if you have friends visiting often. The shoddy maintenance would loudly announce your cheapness.

Basics: This is a four floor building with a pretty noise proof construction.

Location: Outstanding

Parking: The building does not have any parking available

Upkeep and Landscaping: Very Poor. Esp., the carpets near the entrance are horrible and dirty. The elevator carpet is esp. dirty, I prefer to use the stairs when I have a guest. However, they have recently started painting (the paint was peeling all over the apartment) and carpeting certain areas.

Maintenance Requests: Adhered to promptly

Other renters: Good people.

Packages/ Mails: Has a mailbox. The best part is that the building management delivers packages into your room while you are away.

Elevators: Only one small elevator. Seems like it is 50 years old. The dirt adds to the hypothesis.

Laundry: Has around 4 washing machines (3 of which normally are working at all times) and dryers. The washing room is dirty and stinky but is functional.

Furnishing: The units have lamps, basic beds, chairs and tables. TV/ Microwave/ Sofas might be made available upon request.

AC/ Heating: Pretty effective.

Windows: Nice huge-ish windows in the apartments

Bathrooms: Small and dingy. Most of them lack power outlets

Rodents etc.: Have heard of Cockroaches and Rats in some apartments

Safety: Pretty safe area (next to convention center, Hyatt)

Security: Secured entrance with dial in facilities.

ATM: A Wells Fargo ATM in the next building

Skyway: A skyway, though circuitous, exists across the road.

Gym: Does not exist. However, there is a pretty okay YWCA a couple of blocks away.

Grocery etc.: Target and a convenience store (opposite Hilton) nearby.

Cab Access: Cabs available 24/7 opposite Millennium Hotel (opposite the road)

Staff: Pretty nice and friendly staff. The owner, Mark, is very friendly too.

Pricing: Real cheap for downtown. A real value for money deal.
